Capability 03 of 03: AI features

Plate 03

AI features, scoped small

Two AI features are in the work: the Bar Crawl Golf crawl planner and the assistant inside My Daily Tool. Each has one job and answers from material it is given. The table below says where each one runs and what leaves the device.

Provenance

Where each answer comes from.

Three assistants, one row each: where it runs, what answers, what it is given, and whether the text leaves the device.

AI provenance: where each assistant runs, the model, what it sees, and whether text leaves the device

How it is built

Each assistant has one job.

How the AI features here are scoped.

  1. 1

    On-device where it counts

My Daily Tool uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models, which fits its no-account promise.

  2. 2

    Grounded in real material

The planner builds from real bars in the city you pick; when no model answers, a curated list of real bars comes back instead of an invented route.

  3. 3

    A planner for one night

The Bar Crawl Golf planner builds a route from your city and vibe.

  4. 4

    Scoped on purpose

Each assistant is given only its material: the planner gets your city and vibe, the day assistant gets your question and the recent chat. Nothing more leaves the device or reaches the server.

The toolbox

What each feature runs on.

One runs on the phone and one calls a hosted model. The table above says which is which.

  1. Apple Foundation Models (on the device)
  2. A hosted model API (planner)
  3. Next.js routes
